WOODBURY - Officials say a native Long Islander who disappeared in a California forest has been found dead.

As News 12 has reported, Ed Cavanaugh was last seen July 17 riding his motorcycle in El Dorado National Forest.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office says a motorcycle matching the description of the Ronkonkoma native's was found Tuesday. A body was found nearby.

Cavanaugh's sister posted on Facebook that the body was him.
