WOODBURY - Long Island politicians say they've lost faith in LIPA and are calling on the federal government to step in in a major way. Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano, Rep. Peter King and Rep. Steve Israel are calling for former FEMA director James Lee Witt to manage LIPA and help restore power. Officials also urged President Barack Obama to send more help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Department of Defense and the military.
