MANORVILLE - The Long Island Farm Bureau is organizing a massive one-day farmer's market, hoping to get dozens of local growers to bring their produce to a single location.

The move comes as Long Island farmers say they are struggling to sell their products. They say between rising fuel costs and competition from cheaper imported produce, it's becoming more and more difficult to make a living on the Island.

Farmers say the aim of the farmer's market is to help preserve Long Island's remaining family farms and open space.
