WOODBURY - Suffolk Executive Steve Levy says he's got a plan to trim millions from the county's capital budget.
The county executive says that he wants to slash spending on infrastructure by 44 percent.
Citing an economic climate that requires strict fiscal discipline, Levy's plan for 2012 would slash spending by nearly $86 million over the previous year.
County lawmaker Jay Schneiderman told News 12 Long Island by phone that Levy's plan has not yet been released to the legislature.
Levy says this will be his last capital budget and that he wants to leave the county on firm financial footing.
