LEVITTOWN - The Levittown School District honored its educators today with a Teacher Appreciation Day, but many of those teachers are in danger of losing their jobs.
At Summit Lane Elementary School, parents held a luau lunch in appreciation of the work being done with their kids. Those parents also approved Levittown's budget, with a small tax increase, but the district says it's not enough to keep all of the teachers around.
School officials have said that due to a loss in state aid, it will still have to lay off as many as 100 teachers, which could also mean program cuts and larger class sizes.
Parents say they're concerned about what will happen next and have tough questions to ask at the next school board meeting June 8.
