WESTBURY - Last week, more than 500,000 Long Islanders were without power following Irene, but tonight, less than 100 outages remain.

Some families in Levittown are among those who spent a full week without power and are finally out of the dark. However, many others had no reason to celebrate this Labor Day weekend and say they're losing patience with the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA).

In Westbury, Dr. Allen Roth, a podiatrist, has been without electricity for nine days and says he hasn't been able to treat any patients.

LIPA says it reached its goal of restoring power to 99 percent of its customers by last night and expects to have the lights back on for all remaining customers affected by the storm on Tuesday.
