Police say the men were in front of a home on Belmont Parkway when the shooting occurred.

HEMPSTEAD - Police say they have identified the names of two New Cassel men gunned down in Hempstead on Monday.

According to police, Leonel Volcy, 27, and Yvenel Fede, 20, were shot by an unknown man as they sat in a car.

Police say the men were in front of a home on Belmont Parkway when the shooting occurred.

Police including hostage negotiators surrounded the home on Monday. They thought the gunman was inside.

The gunman is still on the loose and there is no word on a possible motive.
