GREENLAWN - A lawsuit will move forward against a Greenlawn priest who has been accused of sexually abusing a girl.

As News 12 reported, a 21-year old woman accused Father Gregory Yacyshyn of molesting her 12 years ago at St. Francis of Assisi Church.

The alleged victim was 8 years old at the time and came out with the allegations two years ago.

She filed a civil lawsuit in January, and a judge has ruled the suit can move forward, even though it was filed after the statue of limitations, according to Newsday.

The priest is currently a pastor at St. Jude's in Mastic Beach.
