LAWRENCE - Taxpayers in the Lawrence Union Free School District voted today on a contentious plan to sell an unused school building.

Developers want to turn the No. 6 school into an outpatient health care facility, but critics say the proposal will lower property values while increasing traffic to the area.

Residents casted their votes at the Atlantic Beach Village Hall, No. 2 school in Inwood, Lawrence Middle School or Lawrence High School.
