HEMPSTEAD - A West Hempstead man accused of killing two of his friends while driving high and drunk is now facing 25 years to life in prison.
Kervens Boutin, 29, of Hempstead, pleaded not guilty today to 28 charges for the fatal crash in January.
Prosecutors say Boutin was drunk and high on marijuana when he drove more than 100 mph on the Southern State Parkway and crashed his car. Boutin’s two passengers, Bryan Rivas, 20, and Blossom J. Castro, 22, both of Hempstead, were pronounced dead at the scene. Boutin lost both of his legs.
Boutin is due back in court on July 22. He is out on $100,000 bond.
