LEVITTOWN - A 7-month-old dog is being hailed as a hero after saving her owner from a house fire.

The Bernsteins have owned their Levittown home for 25 years, but recently decided to move to Florida. All but one of them have been staying at a hotel nearby for the past day or so because their stuff was packed up.

Matt Bernstein was home alone when he fell asleep, and the house caught fire.

The family's Australian Shepherd puppy, Kenzi, nudged her owner's leg with her face until he woke up and was able to evacuate the burning home.

The dog is receiving lots of love and treats to thank her for saving Bernstein.
