Kenechukwu Okoli accused in Hempstead crossing guard hit-and-run

HEMPSTEAD - Officials say an arrest has been made after a woman was hit while helping school children cross the street in Hempstead.

According to police, Kenechukwu Okoli, of Uniondale, is facing charges for the hit-and-run that injured the crossing guard.

Police say Okoli drove into the guard on Henry Street and left the scene on Nov. 20.

The crossing guard hurt her knee and hip.

Okoli is now facing leaving the scene and assault charges.
