MEDFORD - A homeless man is accused of breaking into cars across several Suffolk towns.

Police say Keith Keene rode around on his bike looking for unlocked cars.

According to police, the 36-year-old stole cash, jewelry and electronics from cars in Medford, North Bellport and East Patchogue.

Keene was arrested Sunday after being recognized by North Bellport residents, who held him down until police arrived. He was arraigned Monday on petit larceny and grand larceny charges.

Police say Keene has a long criminal history, and authorities believe he was selling the items he stole to buy drugs.

Investigators say there may be more victims out there, so they are urging anyone with information to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
