HOLBROOK - A woman was found dead Saturday night in the backyard pool of her Holbrook home.

The drowning happened on Railroad Avenue at around 9:30 p.m.

Investigators say someone found 50-year-old Karen Gabrielsen in the water, unconscious, and called 911.

Gabrielsen was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Anyone with information on the drowning is asked to call the Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.

Relatives have set up a GoFundMe site to accept donations toward funeral costs. The page says Gabrielsen was a single mother who leaves behind a 13-year-old son.
