EAST PATCHOGUE - A Medford man has pleaded not guilty in a crash that killed a 71-year-old woman.

Police say 23-year-old Justin Klein was driving high on drugs last night on Gazzola Drive in East Patchogue when he crashed a commercial pickup truck into Camille Ricciardo's car. The East Patchogue woman was killed in the crash.

Authorities say Klein admitted to taking two Xanax before driving. They say they also found heroin in the truck.

In court, an assistant district attorney said Klein was convicted back in 2006 of DWAI and has had numerous drug offenses.

Klein was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

A judge ordered that Klein be held on $150,000 bond until a grand jury considers upgraded charges.
