Jury to decide fate of Lamont Pride in murder of NYPD Detective Peter Figoski

The fate of alleged triggerman Lamont Pride is now in the hands of a jury. (February 6, 2013)

BROOKLYN - The fate of a Brooklyn man accused of killing an NYPD cop from Suffolk County is now in the hands of a jury.

The prosecution and defense wrapped their cases in the trial of Lamont Pride this afternoon, and jury deliberations are set to begin in the morning.

Prosecutors say Pride and four other men were involved in a botched drug robbery in Brooklyn last year that ended with the death of Detective Peter Figoski, a father of four from West Babylon.

Pride's defense attorney claims the fatal shooting was accidental. He faces life behind bars if convicted.
