RIVERHEAD - Jury selection has started in the 1999 murder of a teen on the East End.
Police say when Kalila Taylor was 17 years old, she stabbed her Riverhead High School classmate to death. Two years ago, Taylor rejected a plea deal that would have resulted in an 18-year prison sentence.
Taylor was convicted of murdering Curtisha Morning because Morning was dating the father of Taylor's child.
The conviction was overturned in 2004 because DNA evidence was not correctly explained to jurors.
