WOODBURY - A jury is deliberating the fate of a former Bellport High School teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

The jury heard closing arguments yesterday in Jonathan Elsalam's rape trial. 

According to Newsday, Elsalam's lawyer attacked the credibility of the alleged victim, 16, claiming her testimony was unreliable.

Elsalam, 28, is facing up to eight years if convicted.
