LOS ANGELES - (AP) - A judge told Lindsay Lohan on Wednesday he would sentence her to jail if she accepted any plea deal from prosecutors to avoid a trial for allegedly stealing a $2,500necklace from an upscale jewelry store.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz tersely told thetroubled starlet what she could expect if she pleaded guilty or nocontest in the felony case.

"If you plead in front of me, if this case is resolved in frontof me, you are going to jail," Schwartz said. "Period."

Prosecutors offered Lohan's attorney, Shawn Holley, the terms ofa plea deal in a closed chambers meeting with Schwartz. The detailswere not immediately released, but Schwartz said he didn't thinkLohan would take offer.

She left the courtroom clutching her mother's hand.

The judge told Lohan that he was treating her as he would anyother defendant, and that he wanted her to get the case resolvedand reach her full potential.

"I want you to get on with your life," Schwartz said.

Lohan has about two weeks to decide what to do - she is due backin court on March 10. Schwartz said if she does not accept a plea deal, the case will go to a preliminary hearing during whichprosecutors will lay out their evidence.
