Officers seized more than 17 grams of heroin from the home on Ontario Street in Port Jefferson Station yesterday.

PORT JEFFERSON STATION - More than $5,000 in heroin and drug paraphernalia has been found inside a Suffolk home, according to police. 

Officers seized more than 17 grams of heroin from the home on Ontario Street in Port Jefferson Station yesterday. The value of the drugs is about $5,500. 

Officials say Juan Diaz, 21, was arrested on drug charges. Diaz lives in the basement apartment. 

Diaz will face a judge on drug and endangering the welfare of a child charges. 

Police say a 15-year-old was also in the apartment at the time of the arrest.
