VALLEY STREAM - Police have arrested a man in connection to a fatal shooting in North Valley Stream last night.

Police have identified the suspect as Joshua Geddes, 23, of Queens Village. Geddes is charged with second-degree murder and violation of parole.

According to detectives, officers say Geddes fatally shot Benjamin Palemon, 21, on Charles Street in Valley Stream. A second victim, a 22-year-old male, was found with a gunshot to his stomach. Police are trying to determine if the shootings were related and if there was another gunman.

Palemon's mother told News 12 Long Island that her son was studying to be a nurse at Nassau Community College.

Officials say Geddes caused a crash on nearby Linden Boulevard while fleeing the scene. Officials say that guns and drugs were found in his car.
