MASSAPEQUA - A North Amityville man was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the murder of his girlfriend.

Joseph DeFelice was sentenced today for the shooting death of Mandy Jo Jenkins.

Prosecutors say DeFelice set up his girlfriend to be executed in their apartment and got his friend, David Newbeck, of Massapequa, to pull the trigger while Jenkins slept.

Newbeck will be tried next year as the alleged shooter.
