Jolly Stewart accused of injuring patient, cover-up at John J. Foley nursing home in Yaphank
YAPHANK - A nurse's aide has been accused of dropping and injuring a quadriplegic patient and then trying to cover up what happened.
Jolly Stewart used to work at the John J. Foley nursing home before the Yaphank facility was shut down.
The Office of the Attorney General says Stewart dropped a 57-year-old patient back in 2012 while trying to move her from a wheelchair to a bed.
The victim suffered a serious head injury.
Authorities claim Stewart, who is from Middle Island, never told anyone about what happened.
She's charged with endangering and neglecting a nursing home resident.
If convicted, she could serve up to four years in prison.
