WANTAGH - State police say a man's body was found on the Wantagh State Parkway this morning.

Police say a jogger discovered the body just before 8 a.m. on the bike path about 100 feet off the roadway.

The victim's identity is not yet known, but investigators say he was in his 50s or 60s. Lt. William Hulse, of the New York State Police, says they are still awaiting the autopsy results to determine the cause of death.

Police are calling the death suspicious, but aren't saying if it appears that the victim was on the path when he was killed, or if he was brought there from somewhere else.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on the crime to call them at 631-756-3390 - .For Chopper 12 footage over the Wantagh State Parkway where a body was found, go to your digital cable box and select iO Extra on Ch. 612.
