Jobless on LI: Returning veterans face a new battle

SOUND BEACH - Unemployment back at home is a frustration facing many of America's veterans returning from tours in the Middle East. Air National Guard Lt. Justin Rubin, of Sound Beach, says seven years after serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, he still can't find work. He says he has a master's degree and a host of certifications under his belt, but still hasn't had any luck. At the One Stop Career Center in Patchogue, counselors say helping veterans find work is a priority. The free service, which is run by veterans, helps returning troops get training and interviews. Rubin says he has several job interviews lined up thanks to his comrades on the home front.
