CENTRAL ISLIP - An East End architect to the stars was sentenced to time served Friday after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography.

Jay Lockett Sears, 75, was arrested in January 2013 after garbage bags full of child pornography were found outside his house and at the Brookhaven town dump. Prosecutors say Sears would take pictures of children in public, then cut out their heads and paste them on pictures of adult bodies engaged in sex acts. He would also sometimes put a picture of his own head on one of the bodies.

Sears was facing up to 10 years in prison. The judge, acknowledging no children were hurt, gave Sears time served, plus six months home confinement. Sears says he apologized for what he did and is now in therapy.
