RIVERHEAD - A man who allegedly shot three brothers in North Amityville, killing one victim, pleaded not guilty to murder and assault charges.

Police say shots rang out on Coolidge Avenue in the early hours of May 30. Authorities say that Louis Wilson was found dead minutes later in front of the Hollywood Masonic Lodge, and two of his brothers were badly wounded. The suspect, Jakyma Bunn, was found allegedly holding the murder weapon.

Prosecutor Rafael Pearl says Bunn was found at the scene with the gun in his hands. He says the bullet that killed Wilson matched the gun Bunn was holding.

Bunn's attorney says the shooting was sparked by a decades-long family feud between Bunn and the Wilson brothers.

Judge William Condon ordered Bunn, 38, held without bail.

Louis Wilson's brothers are recovering from their wounds. His wife, Tanya, says she can't understand why someone would want to kill her husband.

"When you met Louis, you met a friend for life. He liked for everybody to get along. He was a peacemaker and he loved his family," she told News 12.

Bunn could be sentenced up to 44 years to life in prison, if convicted on all charges. He will be back in court in August.
