ISLIP - Islip Town Supervisor Tom Croci received a hero's welcome home after returning from a deployment in Afghanistan.

The commander in the U.S. Navy Reserves arrived at MacArthur Airport Wednesday afternoon.

Croci says his time overseas was made a bit easier by his family, friends and constituents.

"To all of my family and friends who have been so supportive during this deployment, I can't thank you enough,” he said.

Croci said his first order of business was getting a slice of pizza and a Coke.

He says he will be heading back to the office Thursday morning to get caught up on town business.
