WOODBURY - While most teens have no idea what they want to do with their lives, one Stony Brook University student is running for a seat in the state Assembly. Mario Ferone is a 19-year-old junior at Stony Brook University, where he's studying economics and political science. He hopes to make the grade as the youngest candidate to ever win in the New York state Assembly. The Plainview JFK High School graduate is running on the Democratic ticket in the 15th District, which covers parts of the towns of Oyster Bay, Hempstead and North Hempstead. Incumbent Michael Montesano says he takes any challenger seriously, but feels age helps in Albany.Watch Island Vote DebatesIsland Vote 2012: Complete series
