VALLEY STREAM - Two political newcomers are vying for the newly formed 22nd state Assembly District, added thanks to a rise in population in the latest census. The district stretches from Bellrose to North Woodmere and includes all the communities from Franklin Square to Garden City. Republican candidate Sean Wright is facing off against Michaelle Solages, a Democrat. Solages is the sister of the well-known Nassau Legislator Carrie Solages while Wright is a Town of Hempstead deputy attorney.
