MOUNT SINAI - A Marine from Long Island just returned home from a tour of duty in Iraq, only to face a new enemy in the form of a thief who stole his car from a movie theater parking lot.Jonathan and Angela Cernuto went out to catch a movie at the Island 16 Cinema in Holtsville, but when they came out, their car was gone.Cernuto, an Iraq war veteran, recently returned from a drill weekend, so all of his military gear was inside his dark green 1994 Honda Civic."It's special gear that you only get when you get deployed," he says.Police say six larcenies were reported in the Island 16 parking lot from Nov. 2009 - June 2010. That number increased to 10 the year after. The number of motor vehicle thefts was the same for both years.
