BRENTWOOD - A group of Long Islanders held a vigil Thursday night in Brentwood calling for immigration reform.
The gathering comes as a White House-backed bill strengthening border security gains momentum in the Senate. The measure also includes allocations for a 700-mile fence. In the meantime, vigil participants say they want Congress to suspend all deportations.
The House is expected to pass its own version of an immigration bill this summer.
