HUNTINGTON STATION - A serial armed robber wanted for tying up workers in at least 12 businesses on Long Island has apparently struck again.

The latest robbery targeted the Beach Bum tanning salon on Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station Friday night.

Police say the suspect forced two female employees to the back of the store, tied them up and took cash from the drawers.

The women were not hurt. There were no customers inside the salon at the time.

Police believe it marks the 13th robbery carried out by the same suspect, who has also targeted a Pier 1 store in Huntington and a New York & Company clothing shop in West Babylon, among others.

Detectives say the suspect has been difficult to nab because there have been no good surveillance images of him thus far.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information that can help police is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
