HUNTINGTON - Huntington school officials say they have a scaled-back budget that would come with a property tax hike.
The school board unveiled the new spending plan last night.
The new budget is about $54,000 less than its original plan.
The budget also carries a property tax hike of 3.5 percent, according to Newsday.
The new numbers reflect the state and federal school aid that Huntington will lose.
If the new budget is passed, nearly 50 teaching positions would also be cut, so would nearly 60 other jobs in the district.
