WOODBURY - As thousands of Long Island commuters know, riding the rails can be frustrating due to delays and cancellations.

The Tri-State Transportation Campaign named Huntington, Ronkonkoma and Babylon the worst branches of the Long Island Rail Road for delays and lost revenue for workers.

The announcement was made during the first ever ‘Laggie’ awards for LIRR’s least reliable.

Officials say the lost revenue has totaled more than $61 million.

The campaign is stressing the importance of the system becoming more reliable. It has suggested a double track on the Ronkonkoma branch and signal improvement in Babylon.
