HUNTINGTON - Some businesses owners in Huntington say a construction project is hurting their bottom lines.

The Town of Huntington, who is heading up the project, says it had to make necessary safety improvements to the parking lot outside stores that face Gerard Street.

In order to complete the project, about 150 parking spaces are no longer available.

Owners of Massa’s Brick Oven Pizza say their business has decreased by 30 percent over the past two weeks. With a majority of the parking area affected by the project, potential customers are left without many options.

The town says it is trying its best to accommodate the businesses.
