FARMINGDALE - Hundreds of families affected by drunken driving walked to raise awareness and money in Farmingdale today.

Organizers say the goal of the MADD 5K was to raise awareness on the issue and to push for tougher DWI laws.

Brittany Walsh's family attended the walk today in her honor. Walsh was 18 years old and had just graduated high school when she was hit from behind and killed by Michael Grasing. Prosecutors say Grasing's blood alcohol level was four times over the legal limit.

In 2011 alone, 315 people in New York were killed in drunken driving crashes.
