LONG BEACH - (AP) - Hundreds of people attended a vigil in Long Beach, praying for the safe return of a Long Beach High School math teacher missing since Saturday.

Friends, family, students and fellow surfers gathered on the boardwalk Sunday evening for a candlelight vigil for 33-year-old Danny Bobis.

Bobis was out surfing off the waters of Sumatra in Indonesia Saturday when he disappeared.

Maurice Mitchell, Bobis' friend since childhood says he hasn't lost hope.

"We still believe that Danny is out there and we're hoping that he is found and comes back to us as soon as possible," Mitchell said.

His wife Rachel is said to have found his surfboard but there is still no sign of Bobis.
