Hundreds attend Pearl Harbor ceremony for LI survivors
FARMINGDALE - Hundreds who attended an annual Pearl Harbor remembrance day ceremony in Farmingdale heard stories of heroism and bravery on the 71st anniversary of the attack.
Five Pearl Harbor survivors from Long Island were honored at a ceremony today, and those who died were saluted for their sacrifice with roses delivered to New York Harbor by plane.
The roses were loaded onto a plane, which then took off, flew over the Statue of Liberty and dropped the flowers in memory of Dec. 7, 1941.
