WOODBURY - Members of Congress voted today to block millions of dollars in aid to Planned Parenthood.

The organization provides services such as cancer screenings, testing for sexually transmitted diseases and abortions.

The bill's sponsor says it's "morally wrong to take taxpayer dollars of millions of pro-life Americans and use them to fund organizations that provide and promote abortion."

The CEO of Planned Parenthood in Nassau County, JoAnn Smith, says by law, federal funds can't be used to perform abortions.

Smith says they see about 13,000 people in the county and without funding countless women could lose their only source of healthcare.

The House is expected to pass the full spending bill early Saturday morning.
