Hot design label Badgley Mischka in LI state of mind

The Fall 2012 line revealed by Badgley Mischka label was based on the 1920s-movie "Metropolis," but the designers said they're always inspired by the North

NEW YORK - The Fall 2012 line revealed by Badgley Mischka label was based on the 1920s-movie "Metropolis," but the designers said they're always inspired by the North Shore-based "The Great Gatsby."

Long Islanders might know the name Badgley Mischka from fashion magazines, dress shopping, or maybe, if they live in the Locust Valley area, they're just part of the neighborhood fabric.

The label designed by Mark Badgley and James Mischka has been hailed by Vogue as one of the "Top 10 American Designers." And though their designs are hotter than ever, they still call Long Island home.

"We love [Long Island] - we love the North Shore, that's where we are," Mischka says.
