MIDDLE ISLAND - Lonny Quinn, an injured Iraq war veteran from Middle Island, got a wonderful gift this Veterans Day to thank him for his service: a free car. Quinn is one of seven Long Island veterans who are getting recycled rides through a program started by The National Auto Body Council. The council teamed up with the Long Island Repairmen's Association, which located repair shops to donate labor. Insurance companies provided the used cars. The National Auto Body Council says it is giving 150 cars to veterans in need around the country.Quinn says it couldn't have come at a better time. "This is going to be a change in my life," he says.
