STONY POINT - A leading homicide expert from Rockland County shared his professional opinion on the Gilgo Beach murders case with News 12 Long Island.

Vernon Geberth is a former homicide commander who writes textbooks about killings and consults on murder investigations. He says although he has no direct knowledge of the Ocean Parkway murders, he feels like he knows the killer very well.

According to Geberth, the person responsible is carrying out a deadly sexual fantasy. In his opinion, the man fits well into contemporary society, is articulate and is probably a pathological liar.

Officials have speculated the possibility of more than one serial killer, but Geberth has doubts. He says he can't think of another instance where two murderers were dumping bodies in the same general area at the same time.
