EAST SETAUKET - Officials say a fire destroyed a home in East Setauket this morning. The flames left nothing but charred beams where the house once stood on Barnyard Lane. Volunteers from six area fire departments battled the flames when it started around 1 a.m.

The Brookhaven Town Fire Marshal and Suffolk arson squad are still investigating but tell News 12 Long Island the cause may be construction related.

The house was under construction and no one was home at the time.
