HICKSVILLE - A Hicksville church’s plan to knock down two buildings and build a gymnasium has nearby residents concerned.

Neighbors of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church say the facility is getting too large for their quaint neighborhood. They worry the project would bring more traffic to their area.

A project manager for the church project said one of their goals is to alleviate congestion on the street and increase safety for everyone. He also said the gym will be used for existing sports and preschool child care programs.

The church presented its plans to the Oyster Bay Zoning Board last week. The town says they are being reviewed.
