Hero teachers emerge after CT shooting
WOODBURY - Several teachers are emerging as heroes following Friday's massive school shooting in Newtown, Conn.
One parent says that after gunshots started ringing out at Sandy Hook Elementary School, her daughter's teacher took all of the children and locked them in a bathroom until police arrived.
Officials say that gym teachers huddled students into a corner and shielded the students with their own bodies.
Another parent said that his child's teacher led all of her students to the bathrooms, helped them into the stalls and barricaded the door. Even when police came, she told them to slide their badges under the door before she would speak to them.
