HEMPSTEAD - A Hempstead mother accused of attacking her daughter's school teacher has been found guilty on all counts.

As News 12 has reported, video shows Annika McKenzie, of Hempstead, before she punched and choked middle school teacher Catherine Engelhardt on April 15, 2015. The teacher was left unconscious on a hallway floor.

McKenzie's lawyer claimed that the teacher pushed McKenzie's daughter with a lacrosse stick earlier while controlling a hallway of students.

McKenzie was convicted Thursday on charges of second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment. Jurors deliberated for about five hours before handing down the verdict.

McKenzie will be sentenced Feb. 10. She faces up to seven years in prison.
