WOODBURY - Saturday was officially day seven of the heat wave on Long Island, making it the longest stretch on record with temperatures at 90 degrees or higher.

All around the island, residents sought to prove that the scorching temperatures couldn't stop them from enjoying their summer.

From golfers sweating their way through 18 holes, to people playing it smart and hanging out poolside at Cantiague Park, people found ways to stay cool, have fun, or both.

On the bright side, News 12 meteorologists say there's some relief in sight: temperatures are expected to cool off on Sunday and get back down to normal for this time of the year in time for next week. Temperatures will be in the low to mid-80s next week.
