ROSLYN - Young heart patients at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn took time out to go trick-or-treating while being treated.

Two boys who have just underwent life-saving heart surgeries and two girls awaiting surgery put on costumes to celebrate Halloween.

The children were also celebrating four decades of cardiac procedures donated by the "Gift of Life" in conjunction with St. Francis Hospital. Students from St. Anthony's High School in Huntington collected $5,000 for one of the patients.

Both girls will undergo their surgeries within the next few days.

Since the Gift of Life started 40 years ago, 19,000 children from 71 different countries have received treatment for their heart disease.
