NOYACK - If you're looking for new ways to jazz up your home, the Hamptons is the place to be this weekend.

The Hampton Designer Showhouse is a fundraiser for Southampton Hospital. It opens Sunday in Noyack. Newsday's LI Home editor Valerie Kellogg got an insider's tour.

Visitors can tour more than 10,000 square feet of space in the house and hopefully find some inspiration – like putting a hammock in a bedroom or using a door as a headboard.

Another special piece figures prominently in Huntington designer Kate Singer's great room.

"The most expensive piece in my room would be this antique settee from the 1800s," says Singer. "It's an exquisite Swedish piece."

On the flipside, her space also includes a foot stool she bought for $40 at a consignment shop and reupholstered.

In another room, Cold Spring Harbor designer Diane Guariglia used fabric as a source of inspirations.

"What I like to do is use each of the colors and match all of the components to the room to each of the different fabrics," says Guariglia. "So you're taking something on a smaller scale and making it much larger."

The home comes with luxuries one might expect in the Hamptons, which explains its $5.195 million asking price. Tours cost $35.
